There wasn't a queue and the uncle still took more than 10 minutes to serve me my food. The oil they use to fry the ngoh hiang is so black, I could get cancer just by smelling it. Definately will not come back again.

Is there a minus 3 star rating for this? Absolutely one of the worst prawn noodles I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t even feed this to a dog.

Horrible quality. Paid for King Prawn noodles and got the same sized prawns as the normal sized prawns. The girl manning the counter had the worst attitude and was not happy to be cooking and serving.

Stopped by the Food Junction at Westgate for an early dinner and tried the East Coast Lagoon Ngoh Hiang Bee Hoon stall. What I Ordered: I picked out 4 items for a total of $8.40: Otah Roll ($2.20) Sotong Roll ($2.20) Baby Ngoh Hiang ($2.00) Ma Ti (Water Chestnut) Egg ($2.00) The Food: The quality here is definitely above average compared to your standard food court fare. The fried items were fresh and not overly greasy. The Ma Ti Egg had a nice texture, and the Otah Roll was flavorful. The Highlight: The real star of the show, surprisingly, was the chilli sauce. It's quite different from the standard variety you find at other Ngoh Hiang stalls. While the consistency is a bit on the watery side, don't let that fool you—it packs a genuine spicy kick. It’s refreshing to find a sauce that prioritizes spice over sweetness, unlike the usual sugary red dips. Value: At $8.40 for four pieces (averaging over $2 a piece), it is a bit on the pricey side. However, given that you’re paying for the convenience of a slightly "upmarket" mall location and the comfort of a clean, air-conditioned food court, the price is understandable. Verdict: If you are shopping in Westgate and having a craving for fried snacks, this is a reliable spot. Come for the Ngoh Hiang, stay for the spicy chilli!
