Jurong Lake Gardens still runs free public guided tours after Lights by the Lake packed up. NParks last updated the upcoming-events page on 21 October 2026. The next walk is Lakeside Garden North on Saturday 31 October, 9am to 11am. Registration opened 30 September at 8am. Two sessions. Meet at the Entrance Pavilion at North Carpark.
The gardens split the year across Lakeside, Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden. Public tours sit on the second and last Saturday of each month. 联合早报 said the same on 27 September 2026: sign up about a month ahead, places go first come first served, and the route changes. The official guided-tours page, last updated 19 October 2026, is the booking list. Everyone on the walk has to be registered. A confirmation email lands at least three working days before the date. Registration closes three days out, or when the list is full.
31 October is Lakeside Garden North, 9am to 11am. The NParks event page for Session 1 repeats the meeting point and marks the walk wheelchair accessible. The pitch is biodiversity, family stops and the northern lakeside layout. Wear walking shoes. Bring a hat, water and a poncho. Light rain still goes. Heavy rain cancels. Queries go to JurongLakeGardens@nparks.gov.sg.
14 November is an evening pair. Japanese Garden runs 5pm to 7pm, meeting outside Mempat Hall at Gardenhouse. Registration for that date opened 14 October at 8am. The same Saturday, Edible Garden at Chinese Garden runs 5pm to 6.30pm at the Grand Arch. Two sessions each. If you want greens and kitchen plots, take the edible walk. If you want the rebuilt Japanese Garden after dark, take Mempat Hall.
28 November is Chinese Garden in the morning, 8.30am to 10.30am, back at the Entrance Pavilion at North Carpark. Registration opens 28 October at 8am. That is the 裕华园 walk. 12 December splits again. Lakeside Garden South runs 5pm to 7pm, meeting at ActiveSG Park at Jurong Lake Gardens, and another Edible Garden at Chinese Garden runs 5pm to 6.30pm at the Grand Arch. Both open for registration on 12 November at 8am.
26 December returns to Lakeside Garden North, 8.30am to 10.30am, Entrance Pavilion at North Carpark. Registration opens 26 November at 8am. That is the last public tour on the current board for 2026. Book it if you are in town between Christmas and New Year and want the north lakeside with a guide instead of a self-walk.
Private groups use a separate booking form. The Saturday public slots stay free. Recurring drop-ins sit on the same upcoming-events page: edible gardening at the Kitchen Garden every Wednesday 4pm to 6pm, edible gardening at the Edible Demonstration Garden every Thursday 9am to 11am, horticulture works on the last Monday of the month 4pm to 5.30pm, community composting every Saturday 9am to 10am. Email YEOW_Jie_Ying@nparks.gov.sg to start the kitchen-garden conversation. Those drop-ins are a separate booking from the Saturday guided tours.
Lakeside MRT, Chinese Garden MRT and Jurong East MRT all serve the gardens. North Carpark is the Lakeside and Chinese Garden morning meet. Grand Arch is inside Chinese Garden. Gardenhouse is the Japanese Garden side. ActiveSG Park is the south lakeside meet for 12 December. Bring your own water. The gardens are outdoor and large. A two-hour walk in November heat or a 5pm start in December rain is a different day. Check the JLG operating-hours page for Forest Ramble and Clusia Cove Monday closures if you are stacking a self-walk on a weekday.
ArtsEverywhere heART and collage, Lunar New Year at Chinese Garden, and Lights by the Lake are listed as coming back later. The Saturday tours are the civic leftover you can still book.
